Activity Forums Panasonic Cameras DVX30 vs DVX100

    How big of a difference is there between the Panasonic DVX30 camera and the DVX100? I know the 30 has a 1/4 inch ccd and the 100 has a 1/3 inch. That doesn’t seem like much, but may translate into a big performance difference? Also, is there much difference in the way the cameras handle? I can check the spec sheets, but it’s hard to tell unless you’ve used it.

    I’m assuming you mean the DVC30 as there is no DVX30 I’m aware of. The main difference besides the tiny CCDs is no 24p= no film look. This is a fairly unremarkable camera for the price- it’s pretty old and just NTSC standard definition at 60i. I’d go with a DVX100 or an HMC150 any day of the week over this.
