    hi all

i am aroonz. working in a channel in india…the channel will be launched within a weeks time…

    But i am facing a serious problem…
I made a montage in after effects and i want that to be put in FCP server s o that they can play it..

We have been using DVPAL 48 compression, which is one of the default settings in FCP…but the quality is too bad for a graphic video.. ITS TOO BAD…

i tried many other codecs but when the quality is ok, they are unable to play it from the server..

i tried custom settings where i exported the same video using dvpal setting
and with no compression ..the quality was great but they couldnt play it from the server..i could open the same clip in quicktime…

So the situation is that if i get good quality for the clip, i cant play it from the server…

please provide me with some expert advice

    thanx

    Did you try DVCPRO?

Try the DV50 codec with all the other settings exactly the same. It will give twice the file size (7.2MB/s) but much much better quality.
This is a 4:2:2 codec and is better for graphics, text and colour.
It is being used a lot at the BBC at the moment to mix formats (DV and SD).

Sorry dude but you have just discovered one of the major downfalls of the dv 4:1:1 codec.

Your options as stated above are to work in a higher quality codec such as dvcpro 50 which is 4:2:2 or any other codec which offers 4:2:2 such as photo jpeg.
