I still get people coming to me with DVDs that they don’t finalize.

It’s not a huge issue, it’s just a little more timely to tell them they’re going to have to take it back to their place to finalize it in their recorder. Or get whatever camera they used to finalize it in there.

Today was one of those many days and it got me to wondering why it can’t be read even with some sort of program like mpeg streamclip?

Is the information that people record just stored in the unit (whatever it is they’re recording with) and not actually on the DVD until it’s finalized?

I would not think that is the case because I see recording marks on the DVD.

Or, did I miss the program? Is there one out there that will read DVDs that have not been finalized?

    Thanks,
    Vinnie
