DVDs burned in DVD Studio Pro won’t play anywhere
Posted by John Weber on July 2, 2014 at 2:17 amSo I have a 1280×720 60p project that I run through Compressor using the standard “DVD: Best Quality 120 Minutes” presets in Compressor. Then I take the video into DVD SP and burn it, and the video won’t play in any DVD player. Help, please and thank you?

July 2, 2014 at 2:22 amAre you sure you didn’t accidentally use an HD DVD preset?

July 2, 2014 at 2:37 amDon’t believe so. These are the Compressor settings. Don’t know how to alter DVD SP’s settings, so I’m using the defaults.

July 2, 2014 at 3:17 amJust wanted to make certain you used the AC3 audio preset too, as many think that’s optional, when in fact not using it can make DVDs either unplayable, or virtually so.
So, what type of DVD media did you use? The good stuff, or blank media you bought at Office Depot?

July 2, 2014 at 3:26 amBlank stuff from Wal-mart. Memorex DVD-Rs. “16x, 4.7GB, 120 min”
I’d rather not wait till mornign if I have to, and would rather not spend more than I have to. And this method has worked before, so I don’t know why it isn’t now.I tried buring the files straight to DVD through Compressor, which DID work. So i’m led to believe that the issue lies in DVD SP and not Compressor. But I don’t believe I’ve changed anything in DVD SP from what I’ve done in the past, so I’m left confused as to what to do.

July 2, 2014 at 5:47 pmBe certain your DVD Project in DVD SP is not set to HD DVD. If it is, your disc won’t play anywhere.
Even if your assets are SD, its still possible your project in DVDSP is set for HD DVD.
