    Hi Guys,

I have a Mini-DV tape shot on HD 1080i60 and I am using a SONY HVR-M15U deck that I am running via firewire into my Intel Mac. I am running a KONA 3 card and have never digitized HD material via firewire before.

With SD mini-dv tapes, i have no problem capturing in FCP, but I am having trouble getting picture in my Log and Capture window in FCP on my HD mini DV tape, which leads me to believe I must have my HD input settings wrong. I can control the deck fine, I am just not getting picture

For Device Control, should I set it to FIREWIRE NTSC, or DVCPRO HD Firewire and what’s the difference. Similarly, what should my capture/input settings be? DVCPRO HD 1080i?

    Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Your tape is HDV. Use the HDV 1080i60 Easy Setup.

Some of the earlier versions of FCP did not give you a video preview from HDV content in FCP – I am thinking it was 5.04 ?????
