Would anyone be able to tell me where i can get some really good tutorials on the internet on dvd architect 3. Rather than waste time by posting questions i’d rather go and do some learning.

    Kind regards,
    Nick

    Finding tutorials can be bothersome.

You would be best suited to purchase a good set of training dvd’s which would answer many more questions than what individual tutorials can. These tutorials normally only deal with a specific aspect rather than the package as a whole. As always, DVDa3 has a very good help manual.

https://www.jetdv.com/vegas/forum/viewforum.php?f=5&sid=9de8f428d7c205c88bb88a319bebbbf3 Has a good few tutorials.

https://www.vegastrainingandtools.com/ offers a very good set of training dvd’s

    thankyou jeremy for your reply.
YEs i purchased a 50minute video tutorial – very good introduction.
It’s my first attempt at a DVD.
Whats the best way to prepare your footage in pal. would i create all my footage as mpeg 2 720×576 29.97fps, then just drag them in?

when i look at the Optimize button, it basically highlights what needs to be changed.
What’s your method of video preparation?..do you have everything as mpeg2 before hand or avi?

First remember that PAL is 25fps as opposed to NTSC which is 29.97fps so you need to select the correct project profile in Vegas.

Mpeg is not a good format to edit in – your final output for a dvd is mpeg so you would edit in avi and then render as mpeg2

afraid i don’t have vegas. My plan is to create my avi in premier(doh!), then use TMPEG to turn into Mpeg2. Then use these files for DVDa3..does that sound about right?

do you know of any project templates on the web?…no worries if there isn’t…seems quite a useful program for me(beginner).
    Thanks Nick

    [nj2333] “afraid i don’t have vegas”

Which is really interesting since you can’t buy DVD Architect without Vegas.

[nj2333] “My plan is to create my avi in premier(doh!), then use TMPEG to turn into Mpeg2. Then use these files for DVDa3..does that sound about right?”

That can work. Or you can just give DVDA the AVI file and let IT convert it to MPEG2 and AC3.
