DVDA3 encounters invalid data when processing an MPEG file?
This is a very frustrating problem. It happens during the preparation stage when it is rendering video objects. I have been able to nail the offending file or menu down to one section of my DVD, but within that section it seems to jump around and the problem only disappears when I delete the section. Systematically hunting it down doesn’t seem to be working. When rendering, when it reaches that video object, it stops rendering with this message:
Warning: an error occurred while writing a file.
Invalid data was encountered when processing and MPEG file.Any insights you guys have into this problem would be great. Thanks.
I’m not too impressed with this program. Ever since I got it I have been fighting it tooth and nail. 🙁

Seems like you have a corrupt file and need to recreate it.

The problem was that I couldn’t find the corrupt file. And I figured out why. There was more than one “corrupt” file. I’ve been putting together a demo DVD so it’s got lots of little clips on it, and it was like finding three needles in a haystack. I finally found them, though. The first was a VOB file from a previous DVD project that DVDA didn’t like. Converted it to mpg and that video object finally built. The second and third were two m2v files that I think were rendered on a mac with accompanying aiff files. Converted those to MPG as well and everything is dandy.
Isn’t it interesting that as soon as somebody asks for help they find the solution? 🙂 Now if only I can figure out why DVDA crashes the second I try to burn it! Something to do with the sfs4rw.dll file.

I have got the same problem with a bunch of .m2v files encoded on a Mac.
Every one of the gives me the “Invalid Data when processing file”
So strange that I can preview the DVD no problem and set all the chapter markers, just not “build” the DVD.
Any ideas on how I can get round the problem without re-encoding the clips?

I have the same problem (mpeg2 from Compressor into DVDA) but have found a solution… Prepare the project as before, when it fails, go to the prepared project folder. You’ll see two folders, VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS. Go into the video folder, find the largest .vob file. This is your main encoded video. In DVD architect delete your previous mpeg2 file, replace it with this one (or start again using this as your video file).
It now prepares properly! Hope it works for you.
