I seem to recall seeing a DVD a few years back where there was a special playback trick. I was wondering if this is achievable or DVDA?

When you were playing back the DVD at certain scenes there would be superimposed a button which you could click & this would cause the disc to play an extra scene about what you were watching. When this ‘extra’ scene finished playback would resume exactly where you had left off. So if for instance you had a holiday scene & you were saw someone say pass a historic building you could if you wanted to see more just click the button for details of it.

Can this be done & if so how?

    Thanks in advance

I seem to recall that you can do this with a DVD Script and a Command marker. But I have never heard of anyone actually using DVD scripts – so if you do get scripting to work, please share with us.

You can set a loop point to delay the display of a menu button, but just one, and it just delays the button appearance.

Or you may be thinking of the “Buttons on Video” feature of DVDA.

Whatever is your solution, please share with us because I have never seen any discussion of these features in the boards.

Thinking sideways about this, I can make the whole of the Menu Background a Video, and place directly onto THAT a button to take me wherever. Would that be an option?

    Cheers

I found an answer that I had asked 5 years ago but had forgotten about.

Here is reply to old question.

‘Very easy to do in DVDA, our Advanced DVD Architect DVD teaches this very technique.
    Insert Buttons on Video Marker
    Insert Empty Button
    Link Empty button to video.
Linked video has end action back to the chapter point from where you inserted empty button/Button on Video Marker.

    Make sense?

    Douglas Spotted Eagle’

I’m not 100% certain what he is saying about inserting button onto video marker but I intend to try when I get time. Sorry for asking again.

    Thanks in advance

Look for “Buttons on Video” in the manual.
