Posted by Mike Hinkel on January 30, 2012 at 9:13 am

I am making a short DVD for use at a trade show that needs to play over and over. To the best of my ability I tried using all of the instruction in the help file on the issue. I changed the end action command to loop and set the time in the general tab 5 seconds past the length of the video. After burning and playing the disc it stops at the end without looping back and playing again.

What am I missing in trying to do this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thats lndeed odd, changing the end action command should
    have taken care of that.

[Mike Hinkel] “I changed the end action command to loop…”

My guess is that you used the End Action on the main screen and that’s where you went wrong.
You need to double-click the video so that it, not the menu, is on the main screen.
Now go into End Action and set the Destination to that specific video.

Try as I might all I get is coasters….I did what you said and it still stops at the end. My end action display is exactly like yours. I’m going to give it a rest for now and try to regroup. You would think for one 10 minute video it would be seamless to accomplish.

I ended all my DVD burning frustrations months ago,
    by using ConvertXtoDVD…Everything about this
    little application is perfect.

[Mike Hinkel] “I’m going to give it a rest for now and try to regroup.”

Good idea. Then start over with the same media but as a brand new project so that DVDA doesn’t get confused.
Here are two screen shots from a school project I did a few years ago for one of my daughters.
Note the appearance of name CLICK HERE in the first and second screen shots.
I tested it and it loops continuously.
I hope this helps clear things up.

    Thanks guys.

I am going to delete the projects folder and start fresh like you say, Mike. Your screen shots are exactly like I have them. Both the general and end action boxes are the same as well.

Thanks for the heads up on the little application, Steve. Less is more sometimes, no doubt.

Try as i might i still can’t get it ti go. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the program. I am just going to fill the full length of the DVD with the same video and let it ride…Thanks for the effort.

Mike, I’m not letting you off that easy 🙂
    Here’s another method to try.
Go File – New – Single Movie and follow the prompts.
Once it’s loaded, click the End Action tab on the right and change the “Destination” from “Most Recent Menu” to your video’s file name.
It will start playing as soon as you put it into the DVD player and won’t stop until you tell it to.
If this doesn’t work, then I’m truly stumped.

I do mine the exact same way Mike described…plus I also click on the “Remote” tab and change that “Destination” from “Most Recent Menu” to the video file’s name. Not sure this makes a difference…but it’s something I’ve always done for my continuous play DVDs.

I hope I’m describing this correctly…I’m not in the studio right now. But I do know that it’s under the “Remote” tab.

Thanks again guys, but this thing is just not happening no matter what I try. I followed all of your advice to the letter and I still can’t get continuous play. Totally at a loss here.
