    I put together a project and got it into the DVDA. I burned the disc, but on playback it does not continue. I have to select each title. Where did I go wrong?

    More information is needed here.
    What specifically do you mean by does not continue?
    For example, do you have multiple scenes/chapters and it doesn’t go to the next one?

    That is exactly it, Mike. I have 14 scenes/chapters and they are not continuous after play. I suspect a setting in the end events. I need to read up on this stuff. This whole project needs to be reworked.

    Mike, see if my (rather lengthy) response in the DVD scene selection markers as in comm. DVDs thread is of any help.

    Mike, Is there a reason I am reading the same thing twice on the thread link you provided? I think you may have repeated a few paragraphs in the post. It is quite the read. Just want to be clear i don’t need to do those steps twice.

    Thanks

    Mike, I’m not sure why that happened but yes, the exact same information is posted twice.
    Trust me when I say that it wasn’t done on purpose.

    No worries there, Mike! I respect your abilities and willingness to help here. How can’t I trust that? Thanks again. I’ll let you know how I do.

    Mike, I am a little lost with the bitrate calculation for a 1 hour 58 minute project. I can’t find where to set the audio as well. Don’t see anything you wrote of:

    For the audio, use the default AC-3 template with the following changes:
    Encode set to AC3;
    Click on custom tab;
    Dialog normalization: -31 dB;
    Dynamic range compression: None;
    On the first tab set diag. norm to “-31”;
    On the last tab marked preprocessing;
    Set the Line Mode & RF mode profiles to “None”;
    Now save this as a preset using the method described above.

    I see my mistake here, Mike. I have to render video and audio separate of each other. That makes sense. The bitrate calculation is confusing the issue for me also. The template has it coming in at 9,5000,000. Thought I saw someplace where it said not to go over 8,000,000. I appreciate your patience.

    Mike, in case I missed mentioning it, https://www.johncline.com/bitcalc110.zip is the link to the bitrate calculator I use.

    I customize it a bit by setting the Safety Margin 5% (default is 1%).

    If I enter 1 hr. 58 min., I get VBR numbers of 8360 / 4776 / 2864.
    I read a long time go too that the Max should never exceed 8000 so that’s where I set it, no matter what the calculator says.
    BTW, for a video of this length, I’d do a two-pass render.

    It’s a good idea to stick to name brand media and Taiyo-Yuden and Verbatim are the two brands most often recommended.

    Thanks for being there, Mike and thanks for the link. Should those numbers be entered as you wrote them or as 8,000,000, etc., etc.? I will look around for the media you suggest. I never saw those brands anywhere here.

    Thanks again.
