  • DVDA Challenge Question! Toggling Between Matching Scenes?

A week ago I shot a community theater production. The shoot went well for me, but the cast felt (and rightfully so) their performance was subpar – they asked me to reshoot this past weekend. Being the chump I am, I reshot yesterday – their performance was great. So now I have footage from both shows.

Unfortunately, one of the secondary actors could not perform yesterday because of a serious family matter. An understudy stepped in and did a fantastic job.

Of course now the cast is asking if it’s possible to produce the entire 2nd show, but edit in the few scenes from the original actor using the 1st shooting. That’s no problem (other than the obvious time required to do it)

My question: to take this to another professional level, is there a function within DVDA where I could lay down the entire 2nd performance, but add a 2nd layer with the original actor, simultaneously under the performance of the understudy, (only on the scenes which correlate) and perhaps have a remote control/DVD player type control toggle between matching scenes? Would something like the camera angle function work here? Is that only available on some DVD players? I’d certainly like to make the DVD 100% compatible with all players.

Thanks in advance for any comments, suggestions or other advice.
