I have a series i have to deliver to ITV and they have asked for 2 copies on dvd for compliance & subtitling. They have requested that these copies have both VITC & BITC. I understand how to add BITC in fcp but how do I get VITC onto DVD?

I have delivered to ITV and the DVDs only had BITC. They only use them as reference copies.
I suppose if you encoded the DVD from a tape source and made sure the VITC were not being blanked out the VITC would be encoded too however I am unaware of any way that they can be read from the DVD even if it is there so really perform no useful function on the DVD.
I suspect its not really a requirement – The guy that wrote the ITV tech spec is james.robinson@itv.com you could drop him an email and ask him to clarify that just in case.

    best wishes
