One of the reasons I chose to upgrade was the new & improved Picture Compilation “Slideshow”, with “auto” pan and zoom, etc. Not high on everyone’s list, but apparently you cannot even set the duration of each photo, let alone have simple crossfades between them. I think it’s odd they would go to the trouble of letting you keyframe pan and zoom while leaving out really basic stuff. Doesn’t seem very “pro” to me, but maybe I missed something in the manual??

I know Ed has some tricks to do it in Vegas, but that costs more money…

You can set duration under the “Picture Compilation Properties/Slide button”. But no crossfades.

Where is the “Generate Slideshow Animation” button? The manual talks about this button, but I can’t find it.

    Thanks…
go to the “compilation window” (tabbed next to timeline window)once you have pictures there and look at the row of buttons along the top – it’s the fourth from the left.

    My philosophy has always been:

    1. Create VIDEO in VEGAS
    2. Create DVDs in DVD ARCHITECT

I don’t use DVD Architect to create videos because, as you’ve seen, it isn’t an NLE!
