Does anyone know what would cause this? I have a DVD that plays great and looks great, but won’t fast forward or rewind properly. The audio seems to pick up but the screen stays static.

    These are my settings:

    Any suggestions?

Lowering the BR fixes it, but my first settings looked a whole lot better. Any ideas?

Are you sure DVD Architect isn’t re-encoding that video? DVD’s do not support progressive video at 29.97 fps so that template is not DVD compatible. The only valid formats for DVD’s are 60i, 50i, & 24p.

Ok so should I take out the progressive setting and set to 24 p instead?

Or maybe more simply would be to ask how should I change the settings to best fit DVD? I’ve been successfully using the following settings but the result leaves a little to be desired in terms of quality:

Use the built-in DVD Architect templates and don’t modify them. Sony has already provided the correct templates. All you need to do is use them.

As John Rofrano says, use the DVD Architect templates. If you want to change anything, change the bitrate settings:

Enable 2 Pass (this doubles encoding time but increases quality)
    Minimum bitrate to 2,250,000

If your total length in the disc is less than 76 minutes, use Constant bitrate of 7,550,000. Anything 76 minutes and longer, use 2 pass VBR with the appropriate average bitrate for the length.
