DVD Burning with Vegas 8
Hi All
I am now having difficulty with burning a DVD from Sony Vegas 8, my first video is a large file, just under 3 hrs, i rendered it as an AVI file (will it be better if i had rendered it as MPEG 2). Now that it has rendered, i only get 5 options under the Burn DVD menu 1 Track at once Audio, 2 Disc at once Audio, 3 Video CD, 4 Multimedia CD and 5 Blue Ray. There is no option for DVD (PAL). Does this version only Burn CDRs, or do i have to get DVD Architect along with Vegas to burn pal DVDs.
Or have i missed something

You don’t say which version of Vegas 8 you have (Pro or Movie Studio) but, either way, you have to have DVD Architect to burn a DVD.

Hi Mike, thanks for the quick response
I have Vegas 8 Pro, but will now try to get DVD Architect, or DVD Architect Studio. What one do you reccomend for pal format, is it better if i renderer as mpeg2 or avi

You will want DVDA (pro). And, you will want to render out your video to mpeg-2 for DVD Architect Video Stream only (this is a preset under Main Concept mpeg-2). And you will want to use AC3 audio for your audio. Render them seperately and save them with the same name in the same folder. Then open DVDA and set your project how you want and import your video file. The audio will automatically be picked up and there won’t be any need for reencoding your files as they are DVD compliant (if you followed my instructions above). Hope this helps.
