DVD authoring
How does one design and author a DVD with menus and buttons and all that with FCP X (because DVD SP is gone)? Is that a thing of the past? I know you can author a DVD with FCP X…like a “first play” thing. But menus?

Not like you are used to.
The “Share” method using Compressor has some basic templates, which might be fine for client approval stuff depending on what you want.
Just keep using DVD SP from FCS3. There is nothing on the Mac side, other than Encore that is as fully featured for DVD authoring.

Fun fact: DVD and Blu-Ray templates in FCP 7 and X are Quartz Compositions.
I might soon blog about adding templates.
