I have a four part Vegas program rendered to DVD Architect streams
(mpeg-2 and AC-3)that is 1 hour and 45 minutes. The data is 5 Gb, just over the 4.7 limit.
We have sorenson squeeze, but can DVD Architect compress it just a bit more to fit on 1 disc?

What setting changes will get me the best quality for the lower data size?

Will a double pass compress better?

    Thanks!

“What setting changes will get me the best quality for the lower data size?”

    A custom VBR setting out of Vegas of 8,000,000 / 5,392,000 / 3,232,000.

“Will a double pass compress better?”

The final quality will look better as the encoder goes through the entire stream once looking for the best places to adjust the bitrate.

“can DVD Architect compress it just a bit more to fit on 1 disc?”

It can but it’ll recompress the entire stream (takes a long time too!!), therefore lowering the quality.
It’s much easier to let Vegas do it for you.
