    In get a mesage that the “video cannot be recompressed because the bit rate is too low…

    I have a 7 meg file that I need to make to one dvd…why am I having this error message?

    7 meg??? That would fit on a CD with well over 600 meg to spare!

    sorry..I meant 7.4 gigs…

    I try to change the bit rate in DVDA and while I can lower it.it will not do the recompression

    why?

    How LONG is this video? What bitrate was it originally rendered to? Sounds like you’re starting with a file at a low bitrate and need to cut that in HALF. It’s possible that the new needed bitrate is too low.

    bitrate was variable single pass b/w 2000-6000

    we always used this or up to 8000

    this seems odd

    Is the file actually that size? Or does DVDA “think” it’s that size?

    Can you rerender from the NLE at the proper bitrate for the length of your video?

    Personally, I wouldn’t want DVDA recompressing an MPEG2 file. You’ll lose too much quality doing that.
