DVCPRO50…Quicktime, Windows
Ok…I asked this question in the AE forum and also Googled it but I have not found a clear cut answer. I have a client that sent me a finished commercial to which I did the animation in. I wanted it for my demo. Anyhow, there were actually 3 commercials. Two were in QT with teh DVCPro codec. One was with the DVCPRO50 codec. I can’t view the DVCPRO50 commercial and I don;t want to bug them to resend it to me. I downloaded the ACE Mega Codec pack, but that didn’t help. WHite screen, quicktime cannot play file.

DVC Pro is only enabled in QT in Macs. You’ll need someone with a recent copy of Final Cut to render it into a different QT compression for you.

I have tons of DVCPRO50 footage that I managed, after great pains, to open in Windows. If you installed the ACE Mega codec pack correctly (meaning, you scolled down that insane list and hand-picked “Matrox DVCPRO50”) all you need to do now is is convert your .QT or .MOV files into AVI files.
That dreaded white screen kept coming back until I had my Mac guy turn the files into AVI. I dunno, maybe you can get away with just changing the extention in your file manager. Good luck.

After installing the ACE mega codec pack I can use DVCPRO50 as an output for SD video
