DVCPro50/24p workflow
Hello to all,
I am editing a multi-cam DVCPro project which will be shot in 24P. I will edit the project on a G5/FCP5 raid system using a Panasonic SD955B or SD030B deck for input and output. I output for broadcast. This is a new set-up. Any nuances I should be aware of? I’ve been using DVcam and a DSR11. What are the differences in workflow?

and the project is being shot using Panasonic SDX900 cameras. 🙂 There, I think that is all for now… LOL!

Hey Lisha,
I’m currectly working on a three projects all shot using the Panasonic 900 at 24p. Nothing major to worry about, just set up you capture settings to 23.98 fps and make sure your sequence setting is the same timebase.

Well first of all are you going to capture via firewire or SDI?
Either will have implications on if you should shoot 24P or 24PA.

Doing a first project as well. Same thing (DVCPRO 50 @24P). Saw where to change the sequence settings to 23.98 but didn’t see any capture codecs for the same thing other than some Kona Varicam presets. Working in FCP 4.5. Am I missing something? Also, as far as the seq. settings, why 23.98 and not 24?

I am going via SDI. What are the implications? 24P or 24PA? We are finishing to tape.
