Hi, I’m working with 720 24p HD footage, mostly from P2, and the HVX200.

Here’s my problem: If something plays with real-time, everything plays well, and looks good. As soon as I render it, the first and last frames of a transition will have a skip in it, as if the render timebase were different; and the interviews that I render end up having the audio out of sync. So, what’s the deal? It was shot as 720p 24N, and I’m using the Sequence Preset DVCPRO HD 720p24… wouldn’t this be correct?

So, either I’ve got a Sequence Preset set incorrectly, or, FCP 5.1.1 is giving me a hard time. Whatever the case, anyone know the answer?

    Thanks!

[JT] “As soon as I render it, the first and last frames of a transition will have a skip in it, as if the render timebase were different;”

Sounds as if you have overlapping render files

go to Menu > Tools > Render Manger

and check the column tom delete all of your render files and re-render. That should fix the issue.
