I just did a shoot using the Panasonic P2 Cards as capture, and I imported the clips into a G5 powermac, and they translated fine. I then copied the QuickTime files from the capture scratch folder onto a portable HD for travel. These Quicktimes play fine in Final Cut, but will not play back on the desktop as normal QuickTime files. Any clues?

The QT window will be all white, but the audio can be heard. I wanted to play these files in QuickTime so I can label them for quick reference and scene description.

Is there a specific plug in I need?

I have QuickTime 7.1.5 and FCP 5.1, running on a MacBook Pro.

The DVCPRO HD codec only comes with Final Cut Pro. If you don’t have Final Cut Pro on your laptop, then you can look in the QUICKTIME folder in the Library and see if you can copy over the DVCPRO HD codec.
