    Hello All,

I am gonna be doing live capture from a HDX-900 into my 17″ Macbook Pro (2011, i7, quad-core, 750GB 7200 RPM, 4GB RAM) I’ll be capturing to an external hard drive on set.

Capturing into Final Cut Pro 7.0.3.
    Capture Preset:DVCPRO HD – 720p60 48 kHz
    Device Control Preset: Non-Controllable Device

Doing some testing before the shoot and Final Cut will see the camera fine allows me to do a capture now and will let me playback the clip. When I play back the clip there is a 1 second delay with the audio the first time you play the clip. When I switch back to the Log and Capture window it takes about 9 seconds to see the camera again. I can do this about 2-3 times. Upon trying to go back to the Log and capture window a 3rd or 4th time I get the spinning wheel and Final Cut quits.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

What are you using to capture the footage? Are you closing the log and capture window when you switch to playback and vice versa?

I am doing a live capture from a Panasonic HDX-900 via firewire into Final Cut Pro using Log & Capture. I have tried both just changing the active window pane between the L&C window and the browser window for playback and closing the log and capture window after each capture and then reopening. Yet I can only do this 2-3 times before Final Cut crashes while trying to open the Log & Capture window.
