Which is better to use Firefire or HDSDI for capturing to DVCPRO-HD. No difference or is there?

yeah i understand rendering and finaling but I wantred to know if there is any difference with capturing from firewire to dvcpro or hdsdi. Because for some reason final cut wont see the Deck fully with firewire. So ive captured everything with HDSDI.
