    hello all

*** is it possible to force FCP5 to use footage that worked fine in FCPHD, even though FCP5 says the footage has changed ?***

Ingested DVCPRO HD 720p 23.98 Varicam footage at reputable post house (not that it matters) into a FCPHD project last year. As far as I could ascertain, FCPHD had the limitation that it only recognized one sound track with DVCPRO HD 720p footage, even though Quicktime Pro 6 and Digital Performer 4.5 both saw 4 soundtracks. This was fine to do a rough edit.

Now we are finishing in FCP5. When I try to open the project, I cannot reconnect the media because FCP _now_ sees 4 soundtracks which is different from the one soundtrack.

Anyone else run into this ? Any acceptable workaround ? As far as I can figure, I need to export the footage so it just has one sound track and then keep the other 3 soundtracks as a separate file and place them manually.

    Thanks

    Michael
