I captured a few files via FCP using the Panasonic AJ-SD93 deck. The footage is 24pa, so I used firewire to capture. I imported this clips into a project set up with the same settings. When editing DVCPRO 50 24pA footage, the quality is very poor. I’m not sure if I set up the project wrong, but it almost looks like I’m watching a half resolution preview out of AE. If I open the clips in the source monitor, they look fine, but looking at them in my video monitor, they do not. The stills that I have been using are crystal clear, though. After editing for a while, the image starts to flash and tear when playing the footage.

Any thoughts? May be a setting I’ve got wrong? I’m aobut 99% sure I’ve set up the project to the identical specs of the video files…

Using Mac OSX 10.5.4, Mac Pro 2×2.8 GHz, 16 GB ram, QT v 7.5, Decklink Multibridge Pro 2 (DeckLink 6.7)
