    Earlier Thread

I started a thread earlier and Dave LaRonde and had an answer which I felt had merits to it, but I wanted to get some other thoughts on why this issue was happening.

Quick Summary: We are working with 3 seasons of footage, 2 seasons are shot with Panasonic DV 50 Footage at 16 x 9 at 24p. This season we are shooting with DV HD 720p @ 24pn footage, this will be the native format we edit in, and uprez the DV50 footage to match the DV HD footage. This hasn’t caused any issues really with the quality of the footage, but it’s caused issue with how the timeline handles the footage.

Basically when we have the footage in the timeline, we are taking the footage from earlier projects and copying them over to the new timeline. Sometimes the footage is flawless and plays smoothly, but other times in the timeline, it becomes choppy and play smoothly. Everything is coming from the same source, but having different end results, what can be done to help this workflow work more consistently?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
