Hi I am trying to go from a DV Tape to Record to DVD in widescreen ntsc
my footage comes in as 720 x 480 I did not recored in on my camera in widescreen. I used a Sony DCR-HC52. Connected firewire to capture. When I import my video just sits in the middle of them screen with black on outside and on bottom. I have tried motion but that makes it look stretched. I tried scale to fit size. Im really not to care to export to dvd im gonna author it myself in Encore but want the final avi to look good. How can I get it to be correct Thanks

    Heres what I see

You first must import it into a wide screen project.

Either it will look stretched (horizontal scale only) or you will have to zoom in to fill the sides, cropping top and/or bottom (losing resolution). The second option may also require some keyframed tilting throughout the footage.

I couldn’t open the url even after adding the ://, but, yes unfortunately, it’s either stretched or zoomed in.
