DV tape: Lower Field First? Interleave every 0.250 seconds? (Rendering clips at original quality)
By searching I have found that all the video and audio settings for the pre-defined NTSC DV template are equal to the format on a mini-DV tape…. except “Field Order: Lower Field First” and “Interleave every 0.250 seconds”. Those may be intrinsic to DV format, but I have not been able to verify that.
I want to render some unprocessed/unedited clips – we captured some whole tapes, selected keeper clips, and I now want to render those in the same quality as if we had logged and captured only those clips.
If I render my clips using the Lower Field First setting, will that create a problem if in a future project I want to use the “None” or Upper Field First setting?
Interleave: every 0.250 seconds?

DV is always lower field first. Analog can be either depending on the capture card. I would render with the standard DV templates without changes to stay out of trouble.
