I have received footage which cannot be reshot

Baiscally the footage was shot indoors without a light and in a room with very low lighting in the room.
The footage is grainy becuase of aperature of camera must have opened up.

Anyone know how to make this footage look a bit brighter less grainy and a bit better!

    Possibly asking for a mircle!

I’m not sure if this will bring out a lot of the grain, but there is this effect in AE 7.0:

    effects>color correction>shadow/highlight

It is something that came from photoshop I think. Anyways it is kinda like a fill light I guess you could call it. Maybe that will help a little. I’m not sure if it is an option if you are working with an older version of after effects. Hope that helps somewhat.
