DV dubs from panny1400 – no timecode
I am trying to pull DVcam dubs from my panasonic 1400 deck. I am going via firewire to a DSR-40. I get sound, letterboxed downconverted picture, but no Timecode. Does anyone have any ideas as to why?

You need to ensure your DVCAM deck is set up correctly to accept External Timecode. We have the Sony M15U HDV/DVCAM decks and timecode works perfectly coming out of the 1400 as we perform Matched TC downconverts all the time.
