  • DV Atlantis or Nattress Standards Conversion?

Posted by Will Berman on September 13, 2009 at 9:08 am

I am going to be working with someone shorty shooting 50p Pal HVX footage, and I am shooting 60p on an HMC-150. He will be doing the majority of the editing on Final Cut, so I will need to convert my footage to pal for him to work with.
Which software between Nattress and DV Atlantis works best? And can they both convert 60p to 50p?
Also which is quicker and gives a more efficient workflow?

    Thanks

    Will

    Hi Will,
I haven’t heard of the AtlatisDV filter so I have no opinion on it.
About the Nattress, they here build for PAL and NTSC footage, I don’t know how they can work with 720p stuff.
Send a post to Graeme and he will tell you.
    Cheers,

To be honest, the best option is for you to shoot 50P. Is there some reason why you choose to not do this? In most major markets you can rent PAL versions of most popular cameras.

I will be shooting most days for 6 months, and I already own an ntsc HMC-150.

Fine. But what is your reason to not deliver what your client needs?
