“Dusting” FX from Blade
Im making a short vampire movie and need to replicate the “Dusting” FX as seen in Blade The Series (Angel/Buffy The Vampire Slayer, etc…) when the Vamps get killed and “Burn” up and turn to dust.
So does anyone have any information, tutorials, walk-thru, step by step instructions on how to do this FX with Particle Illusion?

This tutorial explains how to create the dust part of the effect. To create a burn effect before that, I usually use some sort of intense area emitter that has a fiery look to it, animate its size over a few frames, and use an Area Mask Emitter so that the burning particles only appear over the actor.
