FCP4 will not recognize the Z1. Anyone have advice on how to dump the footage?

Shot in HDV. I am down-converting to letterbox DV.

    Thanks-

Well, either capture the footage as DV, downconverted from the camera. Or use lumiereHD to capture the footage, or HDVxDV, or FCE HD that uses the Apple Intermediate Codec.

Or upgrade to FCP 5, which captures HDV natively.

    Hi Shane-
I am trying to capture as downconverted DV, but FCP will not recognize that there is a camera attached…

Is it powered on BEFORE you open FCP?

Did you recently upgrade to quicktime 7? I mean, did it work before, then you upgraded and now it doesn’t? Has it ever worked?

Does it downconvert on the fly? Are you sure? I thought that it did DV, it did HDV but that you need a capture card to downconvert from HDV to DV.
