I’ve been working with this program for about 8 years and I can’t believe I am having trouble with this!!

I have a closed oval spline. I want a car to travel along the spline (tangentially… car always facing the direction of travel) Pretty easy. Align to Path.

BUT!! I want the car to continue for more than one revolution… Pretty Easy… Loop the Animation or I guess it’s REPEAT in v. 10.

BUT!! I want the car to start slowly and ease into the move. And at some point I want the car to speed up. If I loop… the ease function is repeated and the car slows down at the 0 mark and starts again. And I can’t control the overall speed.

I have tried to use a Time Track but that doesn’t seem to work. Once you reach 100%… you’re done.

The Offset on Align to Spline only allows for 100% which means one revolution around the track.

I have tried to key frame it but there is always a little “bump” as I go from 100% back to the next keyframe. The next keyframe is never 1% it is some decimal that is impossible to calculate for a perfectly smooth transition.

I have used the Cloner object with 1 Clone, a Spline Effector which allows for any % beyond 100%. This is great.. the car just Zips along.

BUT!!!!! I have a camera target attached to the car. This target DOESN’T move with cloned car. It stays in it’s original position.

This should be simple. How do I get the car to move tangentially around my oval spline multiple times so that I can use a time track to control the speed?

If I had any hair left I would tear it out of my head.

    Thanks for your patience!
