Well I got my Duel in the other day, very excited with the timing, shooting on a cruise this Monday with (4) HVXs. This quickly turned into a disappointment, there are no 10.4.9 drivers for the adapter at this time. Oh well, guess I will be hooking up the cameras to download the footage.

On a recent trip to Japan I used 4 8-gig cards and a P2 Store.

Worked like a charm. Didn’t lose a single frame even though these vacation videos were shot totally run-and-gun. It was an acid test before I took this system to a real job.

All the footage was transferred at the hotel using a MacBook Pro onto a mirrored RAID (Firmtek enclosure and Hitachi 500-GB SATA drives).

One of the reasons I’m not getting a Duel Adapter is that it takes up the Express 34 card slot which I need to run the Firmtek RAID. So whatever feeds the MacBook Pro has to go via USB or Firewire.

In my case it’s USB via the P2 Store. Either as a field storage unit or as a card reader.

[Dean Sensui] “Either as a field storage unit or as a card reader.”

That’s why the P2 store is so helpful. It’s either/or.
