Dual screen issue
Ok, so not strictly speaking a Premiere issue, but as I figured you knowledgeable types might be able to help!
I recently purchased a second screen for my 2009 Mac Pro – exactly the same make/model as my primary screen. I’m powering the 2nd screen out of the DisplayPort via DisplayPort to HDMI. No matter what I do to calibrate it, the screen is several shades darker than my main screen which is coming out of the DVI port. There are no controls on the monitor itself to manually change contrast and brightness settings.
Is this a power issue? Is there just not enough juice coming through the DisplayPort to lighten the screen properly? Would a DVI splitter cable from the main port be a better option?

Honestly, who cares? Dual screens never look exactly the same, even when you have two of the same make, same model unless you have dual graphics cards and just driving one monitor off each card. Even there it’ll be slightly different.
You go by your external reference monitor for all final color decisions. If it looks correct on there, it will look good on all televisions and computer screens.
