I use my laptop for editing and have a CRT connected to my Wimdows XP PC for previewing. The colors on the CRT are fuzzy and do not show the true color of the clip. And yet, when I use other applications to view photos or video, the colors are brilliant.
What can I do to enhance the colors in Premiere?

Are you using the TV out function or computer monitor? Usually unless the computer’s video has specific drivers for the video card to present video on a external monitor you usually are looking at a second screen of the computer desktop, To check video you should use a video monitor(tv, studio monitor or other) alot of people use the pass-through feature on their video camera(if it has one) or a DV to analog converter, then you can calibrate the monitor for video levels and get a accurate preview
