dual monitor fcp editors using motion
i’m ready to move up to a dual g5 and am running 2 21″ crt monitors. i heard the video card will take a performance hit w/ motion if using a dual monitor setup. i figure there are many fcp users editing w/ dual monitor setups so i’m wanting to know what you’re doing to maximize motions performance. i will be looking to get an ati x800 and 8gigs of ram( i believe motion will benefit from 8GB?). i’m wondering if you’re running dual monitors w/ 2 cards or simply unplugging one monitor when running motion? what is the best solution for a dual monitor setup? thank you very much!

I run Motion off my 9800 128 MB card in my G4 with dual monitors and it if fine
if I need a boost I just use the ATI utillity to disable the second channel on the card (no need to unplug the monitor)DAVE at Movies Rock in Toronto
