  • Dual Boot Necessary for AVID/FCP system?

I just got a macPRO here at my office and i am transferring all of my files from my old G5 which was a dual boot system for AVID and FCP on separate boot partitions. My questions is “Is this necessary? I can’t think of any reason why it shouldn’t work fine on a single partition but let me know your thoughts. I dont want to transfer an ungodly amount of data from one system to the other only to learn that i should have set up a separate partition before doing so. Thanks so much!

It does not matter if it is needed or not, it may just work fine now.

    BUT

There WILL be a change in software someday, and one of the two will stop working after a certain upgrade.
So, be sane, keep the dual boot.
