  • Dual 2ghz G5 some apps not seeing installed Ram?

I have 7GB installed correctly in my machine, the system profiler shows the ram to be present. However the Activity Moniotor app shows only 3GB of hard ram. After effects is also only showing 3GB. I’m running 10.3.9. Could this be the problem? Do I need to upgrade the os? Any suggestions?
    Thanks, in advance.

    Run Hardware Test

Did you install the memory in matched pairs?

    If not try that…

also talk to the manufacturer and see what there replacement policy is…

Well you already stated the problem I didn’t notice the OS you were using the first time, 10.3.9 only can use 4GB you need Tiger to use all that ram.

    32bit vs 64bit system

Even with Tger though, 32 bit apps can only use around 2.5-3 gig of ram.
