DSR-11 print to tape problem
Hello,
I’m running FCS2 on a G5 PowerPC with a Sony DSR-11 deck and usually have no problems printing to tape.
Usually I am working in PAL.
Today I have an NTSC sequence to play out.
I’ve created the sequence with NTSC settings and clips, set the Audio/Video settings to NTSC (incl. device control to Firewire NTSC), set External Video to All Frames, set Video Playback to Apple Firewire NTSC, switched the little switch on the back of the DSR-11 deck to NTSC, set the deck input select to DV, but Print to Tape WILL NOT WORK.
I have an external monitor connected to my DSR-11 and have no problems viewing the sequence via this deck and monitor, but when I go to Print to Tape, the sequence plays back on my Mac monitor, the deck starts recording but it gets no timecode or picture/audio. No picture on the external monitor either.
This is driving me crazy. I have switched everything off and on, left it overnight, refresh A/V devices a million times, tried every variable.
PLEASE HELP! I have a huge deadline this afternoon.

I’ve solved it, thanks!
Changed two things:
My deck timecode IN was set to external and changing this to internal.
In the A/V Devices tab of the Audio/Video settings box, “Different Output for Edit to Tape/Print to Video” was checked and set to DV PAL, so I changed it to NTSC… then unchecked it anyway.
Now everything is working fine. Great!Now I’m wondering Is it possible to output timecode from an FCP timeline to a DSR-11 via Firewire?
