    Hey guys,

Is it possible to capture footage from a Canon 60D’s hdmi-out to FCP 6 without recording anything to the SD card, sort of like doing a live capture to dv-tape?

    Any input is greatly appreciated…

Sure, you can record from the HDMI out, but what you get from there is far from a clean standard signal.
    Don’t waist your time.
people has been trying to get something worth to record from there since the release of the 5D MII to no avail.
Some people claims that things are different with the NIKON, but I haven’t seen proves of that.

That’s correct. Nikon’s D800 and D4 can output a clean HDMI signal. Just remember HDMI is a consumer connector. Shy of a gaff tape job, there’s no way to secure it to the camera or the recorder.
