What is your workflow? Is VP 10 able to “marry” sound and pix so that the trimmer functions with double system sound?

I have VP9 and have had to synch on the timeline and then pull my clips from the timeline to another instance of VP to insure my “married” sound stays with the pix. If I use the trimmer the “scratch track” is the only audio that stays with the pix.

    Anyone have a better solution?

    Regards,

    Malcolm

[Malcolm Matusky] “Anyone have a better solution?”

Start a new project with the exact settings of your media and sync all of your audio and video up on one track and save that as a project. Then drop that project into your real project (as a nested project) and it will behave as a single piece of media.

Thanks’ I’ll try it today, though will that enable me to use “clips” in the trimmer, or will I still be working in the timeline for all my editing?

    Regards,

Yes. The nested project behaves just like any other piece of media. You can open it in the trimmer, you can stretch it to speed it up or slow it down, you can do anything you can do with regular media.

Just tried to import a “nested” project, did not accomplish what I wanted. The scratch track is still the only audio track that came with the video? Strange.

The “clip” rendered as it was imported, but my new synced audio did not “marry” with the pix. What step am I missing? Is this even possible?

    Thank you in advance,

    M

    OK, weird stuff going on.

I imported the file a second time, with out deleting the first, and it did hold the “married” audio! How weird is that? Now I have one large synched! clip that I should now be able to make sub-clips and use the trimmer to organize my clips.

Thank you for the “nested” project tip, but my experience with it was strange.

    VP 9.0e 64 bit.

    Always another question!

Sub-clips are working, but no thumbnail photo? Is this possible or should I just use a list view?

    Again, many thanks’

Since purchasing VP9, this forum has been extraordinary helpful to me in learning such a “deep” software package.

The sub-clips should have a thumbnail just like any other media. I don’t know why it’s not showing up. It should.
