  dropshadow issue when creating a PDF

  Hello

  I have a project that looks fine while in Indesign, but when I create PDFs it is showing light grey boxes around any object that has a Indesign generated dropshadow.

  This is what it should look like and does look like while in Indesign:

  so far I’ve tried the following things to no avail:

  • a variety of PDF export settings,
  • going to edit > transparency flattern preset and trying to adjust the setting there.

  It looks like there are a lot of people with this same problem online but I have yet to find a solution. I am hoping the solution is not “dont use that feature in Indesign”
