    Can someone PLEASE help?

I’ve been using FCP for three years and in the past week the following problem has arisen…
When I’m capturing footage from my edit deck I can get a maximum of five minutes, then I get the error message:
DROPPED FRAMES WERE DETECTED DURING THE LAST CAPTURE ATTEMPT
I’ve looked at various forums and have tried the following with no success:
    – unchecked ‘abort on dropped frames during capture’ in fcp preferences
    – added Internal HD to Privacy List in SPotlight
    – captured footgae to Exrternal HD
    – ran Disk Warrior to repair the fragmented HD
Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

    Just something to try:

If you change your device control preset to non-controllable device, does it stop digitizing after 5 mins still?

What are the specs on your system? What type of footage are you digitizing and how are you trying to bring it in?

Quicktime 7.3 can be blamed for all your capturing problems. Great job apple. Way to screw us up.

    Hey,
I recently had this problem too…
I looked at my ‘Easy Setup…’ preferences and I realised it changed itself from DV-PAL to DV-NTSC so I changed it back to DV-PAL and straight away it sorted the problem 🙂
I’m from the UK so obviously we use the PAL settings but as far as I know the US use NTSC so if you’re from the US I dunno if this’ll help but if you’re from the UK it’s worth having a look because apparently it can sometimes randomly change itself.

    Hope this helps,
    Luke
