Dropped Frames warning on a 720p60 sequence that contains PAL footage
I’ve been getting the “Warning – Dropped Frames” message a bunch since I upgraded from Final Cut 6 to 7 last week. I’m currently editing a documentary that was shot mostly 720p60 @ 23.98 fps and partly as PAL 720p50 @ 50 fps. I like Final Cut because I can edit both formats in one sequence (set to 720p60) and when the final product is done, I’ll just convert the PAL that I’ve used rather than all of the PAL footage. Anyway, since I’ve upgraded, I’m constantly getting the Dropped Frames message while editing the PAL footage in the NTSC sequence. I have tried playing other sequences that are 720p60 footage in a 720p60 sequence and the dropped frames message appears.
So far I’ve trashed preferences, turned off unlimited RT, set real-time video to 10 MB/s…but it hasn’t seemed to help.
I have a very fast Mac Pro (10 GB RAM, 2×2.8 GHz Quad-core) and my footage is on a 6 TB drive (with 1 TB free) connected via e-SATA. I also have an Intensity Pro card connected via HDMI to an external monitor.
Any advice would be great. Thanks!
Katie
