    Hello,

At my work I get dropped frames, and I’m not sure why. Our XSan is connected to my computer via Fiber Channel.

The video is either 720p24 DVCProHD or XDCam EX. Occasionally, we have 720p60 too.
I’ll get dropped frames if the timeline is fully rendered, or not rendered at all (green line)
I’ll get dropped frames if I work in a ProRes timeline, or a native timeline.
I’ll get dropped frames if I set the RT Quality to medium or low, and even if I set the playback frame rate to half and quarter. I get the same results whether I’m in Safe RT or Unlimited RT.
Sometimes I get dropped frames when I play a portion in the timeline and there aren’t even any clips beneath the playhead. That’s REALLY weird.

I’ve worked on a project earlier this summer where all the media lived on a G-RAID. No problems working with HDV in a ProRes timeline.

For a while, I just thought our XSan was too full. At one point we only had 2TB available out of a total 16TB. Now we have over 6TB available and I see no difference in performance.

My Mac Pro is quite new too. OS 10.6.4, 2 X 2.26 GHz Quad Core Intel Xeon, 12GB RAM, Apple 2 Port 4Gbps Fibre Channel Card (according to System Profiler)

I’m not sure what other information to provide. Sorry if I am lacking.

Any advice would be great, even if you think the info would be way over my head. We have an IT guy around who knows more about servers than I do.
