dropped frames in FCP via miniDV to Kona Card
I’m trying to capture miniDV via Kona Lhe as 720X486 AppleProRes(HQ). I did a test and the color and image is better than capturing DV via firewire.
I edited a sequence in DV 720X480 24P (not advanced), used media manager and created new project with 720X486 AppleProRes(HQ), and batch captured most of the stuff successfully.
I did get a message, “about to capture Non-Drop frame media from device currently detecting for Drop Frame media….” Did a create a wrong sequence? I did try others. Is the 24P the problem? It seems to abort on long clips at around two minutes into it. There are no broken timecodes. When I do capture now, it creates a new clip every 2 minutes or so.
I have Mac Pro, 6 gig Ram, 3 raided drives, latest of all softwares: FCP, Leopard & quicktime. The MiniDV cam is connected supervideo to two BNC connection into Kona Card.

problem solved…. Changed the capture device preset to NDF.
