I am doing some green screen work in FCPX. I love how easy it is to get a key but cant make a drop shadow for the life of me. How do I create a drop shadow in FCPX?

You could manufacture one the old fashioned way by duplicating the layer, darkening it, blurring it, offsetting it; but I think Brendan Gibbons has made a free effect that will do this. If you search for him on this forum or search the effects at fcp.co you should find it.

    All the best,

You might find this effect useful:

Make sure you set the scale to 100% (rather than the default of 80%) for what you are trying to achieve, but it should work fine. I know Brendan did something similar as Tom points out but this should work OK for pulling a drop shadow off your key (or any other alpha source).
